We are located in the Texas Hill Country north of San Antonio and west of Austin. Rick's great-, great-, great- grand parents came to Fredericksburg, Texas in 1846 after a long voyage on a three-masted sailing ship from Berod, Germany. A lot of changes have occurred since his ancestors arrived in 1846 and since Rick and Mikelle earned PhD's in Animal Science, such as computers, AI, IVF and embryo transfer, and genomic single-step testing, resulting in superior Angus cattle.
We started our registered herd in 2010 with heifers from Arkansas and later added elite females from Express Ranches (Oklahoma), Roseda Farms (Maryland) and High Roller Angus (Texas). Our cow herd has been selected for production traits such as calving ease, moderate yearling growth, feet and leg structure, and maternal and carcass traits such as milk, marbling and $beef. We are a 100% artificial insemination and embryo transfer program.
Because our cows have to function in the tough, semi-arid climate and heat of Texas, they have been selected for hardiness and mothering ability. Our cows and bulls have found their way into commercial and purebred herds scattered across Texas and middle America and have performed well.
We market young bulls and heifers year-round by private treaty and purebred auctions sponsored by the Texas Angus Association.
Feel free to stop by to visit and view our cattle.
